Currently, a master plan is tackling bigger-scale coastal development in Catherine Hill Bay. Also, the subject site plays a vital role to connect the beach to the council's site which includes new amenities and functions. The design brief consists of food services, accommodation, public car park and public amenities for beachgoers and visitors. Furthermore, in terms of the site's strategic location, functions can be considered as a centre of new iconic developments.The purpose of the project is creating a new focal point for visitors, also providing more amenities for locals. To do so, responding to the heritage railway, providing sustainable solutions to the design problem, and considering human scale is essential.
