The Mount Arthur coal mine area has occupied the previous agricultural land and affected its potential for development into larger scale agricultural land, reducing the food production of this region. At the same time, the lack of a local food supply system in Muswellbrook has increased the economic expense of local residents on food. The design aims to use land art construction as an experimental carrier to explore the issue of food sovereignty. By the sustainable production processes and the construction of a food supply loop, a more eco-friendly and localized food community is established, reconnecting the abandoned Mount Arthur coal mine with the Muswellbrook community. Besides, it provides a new model for the other coal mine transformations in the Hunter Valley region.
