Time Turntable

2023

The location is very important both historically and culturally. In order to preserve and perpetuate this cultural heritage while strengthening the cultural ties within the community, we utilized the "time turntable" concept in the planning and design of the museum, library, and surrounding area. As visitors navigated the galleries, historical eras were placed like a clock's hands to take them through different historical times. The flow organization of the design mirrored this idea. The two "turntables" stood for ancient and modern times, denoting a change in the architectural space's orientation from outside to inside. In order to preserve a continuous visitor experience, the library and museum were smoothly linked, guaranteeing that only one historical period was displayed in the same area. Finally, various lighting was employed to create distinct ambiances in every exhibition area.
