Whether spiritual or self-indulgent, for healing or for pleasure, ‘taking the waters’ transcends time, culture, and social barriers. How can the simple act of immersing oneself in water have benefits to both our physical and emotional wellbeing?The Ripple Affect seeks to build synergies between the existing environment, community, culture, and history of Foreshore Park, in Newcastle NSW, to create a multifaceted wellness experience connecting mind and body to place, culture and people. The new saltwater bathing hub offers five typologies of bathing experiences, sourced from the Coquun (Hunter River) and nestled amongst a regenerated native riparian landscape, treatment wetlands and a naturalised harbour edge.
