Today we stand at a critical juncture, facing a housing crisis that demands nothing less than a complete reimagining of our housing systems. We must stop viewing homes as financial assets and start recognizing them as the foundation of our lives, relationships and autonomy. We propose three strategies for affordable housing, Incision, Insertion and Infiltration, that enables the community, including individuals, corporations and governments, to develop their land for affordable and diverse infill housing. The Infiltration strategy aims to encourage local and state governments to play a pivotal role in addressing affordable and social housing through the leasing of public lands to Community Housing Providers and ethical investors under a Community Land Trust model, ushering in a new paradigm for housing development and management.
