Shifting Space

The Broadmeadow Roundhouse Library & Museum, a harmonious synthesis of history and modernity, pays tribute to the rich heritage of Australia's train development. Revering the iconic turntable and the venerable maintenance building as historical treasures, our design team has wholeheartedly embraced the site's historical significance, recognizing the loss of demolishing these structures. Our approach preserves the existing building as the core of our architectural language, expertly extending its purpose and reimagining its outline. Additionally, we have conscientiously integrated contemporary needs, embracing flexibility, dynamic aesthetics, and environmental consciousness in our design. Furthermore, we've thoughtfully woven the local Aboriginal culture into the project's conceptual fabric. This endeavor simultaneously safeguards the splendor of history and indigenous traditions while delivering huge practical value to the community.
